Among the main reasons for a serious increasing food prices in 2017, ACU experts named the inflation growth. It was occurred, because of a reduction of the supply of vegetables, fruits and berries which got harmed by bad weather during the first months of 2017. Besides, there were problems in the stock raising. One of the external reasons is a global increasing food and oil prices.
The ACU's report also notes that the growth of the prices was affected by an increasing the costs of producing goods and by the recovery of consumer demand (for example, because of double increase of the minimum wage). According to the experts of the National Bank of Ukraine, inflation has increased due to the growth of the cost of goods.
